Me & My kart & trailer

My name is SKYLER ALLEN ROGERS.

I've started driving a Go-Kart in my yard when I was 4 yrs old, we have about a 2 acre track that my Dad made for myself & my older brother.

The Go-Kart that we had, was a gas running Kart that we bought from our friends, (we also had a couple of dirtbikes). We would have our own races, and sometimes our friends would bring their dirtbikes or karts over and we would race against them too.

My Dad's Uncle raced alcohol Go-Karts when he was younger - He was very good. Also my Dad's brother raced karts too. Only he raced on dirt tracks, but where he lived their wasn't too many dirt tracks in his area, so he eventually gave it up and asked if we would be interested in getting either myself or my brother into Go-Kart Racing. I told Dad & Mom that I would love to try it, so they bought his Kart and made some adjustments to it (we needed to it set up for an asphalt track) as it was all ready for a dirt track.

So, We loaded it up on the truck, and off we went to the closest track in Michigan. That was Ravenna Motorpark(RVMP) in Ravenna,Michingan.

At this time I was 6 yrs old and ready to Get Ur Done!!

The chassis that I had from my Uncle's kart was an old Marguay (a 1989 to be excat). And the motor, was what came with the kart, other than a few minor adjustments that my Dad did to make it FAST!!!

I caught the end of the season at Ravenna, but I got my feet wet with the thrill of SPEED...I liked it ALOT!!

The next season we returned back to RVMP. Not only did I do good but, I WON The 2004 CHAMPIONSHIP IN MY CLASS !!!!!!

2005- I started racing Great Lakes Sprint Series. I raced in 2 classes Briggs Jr. Sportsman 1 Lite & Briggs Jr. Sportman 1 Heavy. I finished the season 4th in both classes. Along with making a track record at ELKT (East Lansing Kart Track) in Lansing, Michigan. I ran a 42.59.

2006- I went on to race in the HORTSMAN GOLD CUP NATIONALS & THE GREAT LAKES SPRINT SERIES. As of today July 2006- I am running 6th & 7th in the GOLD CUP classes. And 3rd & 4th in the GREAT LAKES SERIES. We still have several of races to go to- with the next several being in WAUM PAM, PENN.& Lowes Motor Speedway in North Carolina for the GOLD CUP & Circleville,OHIO for the GREAT LAKES.

We finished off the 2006 season in North Carolina at Lowes Speedway.
Skyler finished the WKA Gold Cup season with a 7th place in the light class & 8th place in the heavy overall. Their were 24 karts he competed against.
And in the Great Lakes Sprint Series,-He finished overall a 3rd in the light & heavy class. Competing against 8 to 10 karts. We had a great 2006 season(and with God watching over Skyler & all the drivers...know one was seriously hurt....and hoping to come back this 2007 season with a successful & safe year as well.

Season 2007- We just finished the Great Lake Sprint Series with a 2nd in the Lite & Heavy.

We will be going to another Gold Cup National race in Nov.2007 in North Carolina at Lowe's Motor SpeedWay.
Right now I'm tied for 2nd in both classes...Wish me luck!!!!!
